About

THE FULL STORY

From Accounting to CG Rendering

My journey begins when I bought my first 3d printer in 2013. At the time consumer 3d printer has just started, not so many 3d models was around, only a few spanners and tools available for download. Therefore I decided to start building my own models.

At the beginning it was very hard because learning curve was steep. But after awhile, I fell in love with 3d modelling. I started building different things from simple chairs to cups to the infamous lightsaber, learning all kinds of modelling skills from the internet.

My original career path was in accounting. Finished my degree in University of Kent in 2012 and worked for a few years in the field. In no doubt, this is the career that a normal family would dream of. 3d artist never came into my mind until I met a friend who was also working in finance. This friend quit the well paid job, studied again in university and then worked in the visual effects industry successfully. It is then I realised this hobby I have can actually become my career.

In 2017, I decided to study 3D animation for real. So I took a 6 months short course in Met Film School. My journey starts from there.
